Scientific meeting of MRC about the effects of intellectual property right on developing economies

Majlis Research Center held a scientific meeting about the effects of intellectual property right on undeveloped economies.
In this meeting which was hold by economic studies office of MRC, Dr. M.G. Yousefi, economist, said that increasing extension of knowledge-based economy and knowledge-intensive industries in one hand and competition increase in globalization process in the other hand caused that it is inevitable to take into account different dimension of intellectual property right, information service office.
Intellectual property right is really a legal and institutional instrument to support the creator of a think such as inventor, innovator, artists, men of letters and designers; besides royalties, trade mark, and copy right have been historically played main roles in industrialization process of North America and Europe, he added.
The importance of concession royalty is to be right that they can't use, sell or import their inventions for a 20 years period accordance with the law of intellectual property right related to the trade, he added.
Dr. Yousefi indicated that the subject of intellectual property right has been known important for its effects on economic development, poverty elimination, and stable human development by the point of views of developing countries and he added
According to the world developments and internationalization of production, distribution and consumption, it is necessary to take into account all dimensions of intellectual property right.
Moreover, he indicated that developing countries have faced to the problem to make relative balance between their needs for accessibility to knowledge and information in one hand and undertaking their obligations to observe international agreements in the other hand because this process of intellectual property right policy can be limited the accessibility to scientific and technical knowledge, training, and information that they are necessary to make content, scientific research and innovation in developing countries.
